This Pale Ale claims to be the world’s first Pale Ale, as they claim that it was originally brewed in 1777. It is currently brewed in Baldwinsville NY by the William Bass and Co Brewery.
I found this beer to pour a nice copper color that produced a decent amount of head but there was very little retention, and a small amount of lace. I found the aroma to have some caramel, and bready malts. The taste of this beer contains the caramel, bready malts found in the aroma as well as some possible toffee. It balances decently well with the slightly bitter earthy hop finish, and has a solid mouthfeel.
Overall this is a decent beer and I would most likely get it again. I find it to be better mixed with the stout as a Black and Tan however.
