Bayou Teche Miel Sauvage

Bayou Teche Miel Sauvage

This Honey ale aged in spirit barrels is brewed out of Arnaudville LA at the Bayou Teche Brewery and carries with it a big 9% ABV. I was advised that this was a very limited beer and when it is gone, unfortunately it will be gone.

Miel Sauvage pours out a nice dark copper color producing an off white head that laced nicely on the glass. The aroma contained a nice sweet honey undertone while the vanilla, and other oakey aromas danced around in my nostrils. Needless to say it was rather pleasant. The taste of this beer had a fantastic balance to it as the started off with the sweetness of the honey before the vanilla oakeyness took over and left a nice warmth in my belly from the hefty 9% ABV. This beer was very smooth from start to finish and had somewhat of a creamy mouthfeel to it.

Overall this is one of the best beers I have had in a long time and I would urge you to try and track a bottle of this down before it is too late. I would also like to thank my friend Craig, and his girlfriend Patricia for bringing this up to me from Louisiana!
