This winter seasonal is brewed out of Dover DE at the Old Dominion Brewery. It has a 6.8% ABV and the brewery claims it is “bold enough to brave the Baltic!”. Lets find out shall we?
I found this Baltic Porter to pour out a nice dark brown color, that produced a light brown head while lacing nicely on the glass. The aroma was rather nice as it showed off some roasted malts, chocolate, and toffee notes. When tasting this porter I found it to start itself off with some chocolate, and sweet toffee while balancing itself with some roasted malts before finishing up with a very mild bitter hop taste.
Overall I found this to be an excellent beer, and I would strongly suggest you pick it up should you be lucky enough to have it distributed near you. I would like to add a quick note to the Old Dominion staff and request that you start distributing your excellent beer to the Gateway City, St.Louis MO because I can’t get enough of it!
