This Dopplebock is brewed at the Castle Brewery located in Vorchdorf Austria that was established in 1681. It is available year-round and it has a massive 9.6% ABV.
This beer poured out a nice copper color with a small amount of head however it did lace on the glass. The aroma was full of sweet bready malts and also hinted at some possible honey, and alcohol. When tasting this beer I found it to be rather sweet and full of caramel malts, and the honey that hinted in the aroma. There was nothing subtle about the taste as the tastes seemed to jump out at you before having a slightly dry finish.
I thought this beer drank rather well however the high ABV does show through at times. I would still however recommend you try this fine Austrian beer.
