Grand Teton Black Cauldron

Grand Teton Black Cauldron

This Imperial Stout is brewed by the Grand Teton Brewery located in Victor ID. It is a part of their fall seasonal lineup, and has a big 9.5 ABV.

This Imperial Stout pours out a nice dark black color, with a thick brown head that laces on the glass. The aroma has a lot going on as the dark chocolate, coffee, and black licorice dominate. It also has a smoky hint to it, and is rather pleasant. When tasting the Black Cauldron I found that the black licorice starts the beer off, and then it balances nicely with the chocolate, and coffee that is found in the aroma. The finish has a bit of a bite but it still maintains a nice creaminess to it making it easy to drink for such a big ABV. I also noticed that the smoky undertones in the aroma to show through in the finish as well.

Overall this is another win for the Grand Teton Brewery. I would suggest you pick it up if it is available near you. To date they still have not disappointed me, and I look forward to trying all of their new beers!

Cheers!
