Kraftig Light

Kraftig Light

This is a new light American Lager from William K. Busch who is the great grandson of Adolphus Busch who co-founded Anheuser Busch. This beer is brewed right here in St.Louis MO and it is to be available year-round. The name Kraftig means “powerful” in German however while the ABV is unbeknown to me I would compare it to a Budlight.

This light American Lager pours out a golden color which is typical of this style. It produced a decent amount of head that did leave lace on the glass. The aroma is similar to it’s brother just on a lighter scale. It was all grain and malt with a subtle sweetness to it however rather bland. Tasting this beer was also very similar to the Lager as it was very malty and grainy before finishing with a crisp slightly hoppy finish. There is a nice balance but the taste does leave you wanting more.

Overall this isn’t a bad beer and I think it is good competition for the heavyweight Bud Light. Pick it up and give it a try. Tell me what you think.
