Lagunitas Bavarian Styled Doppel Weizen
- Overall 85/100
- Appearance 20/25
- Aroma 21/25
- Taste 23/25
- Finish 21/25
This beer is brewed by the Lagunitas Brewery located in Petaluma CA. It has a nice and hefty 9% ABV and the bottle states that it is a limited release.
I found this beer to pour out a nice dark and hazy orange color with a decent amount of head that laces on the glass. The aroma was rather pleasant as it contained hints of banana, clove, sweet caramel malt, Belgian yeast, and a hint of alcohol. The taste of this beer is rather nice and easy to drink despite it’s high ABV. It starts off with some nice sweet malt with a touch of banana and clove before finishing up rather nicely with the Belgian yeast, and alcohol that warms the belly. This beer has a wonderful balance and a full body despite a medium mouthfeel and I feel that just about anyone could enjoy it.
I would recommend you pick this one up before it is too late. I really don’t think you will be disappointed. I would consider this to be a sipper beer because of the high ABV but like I said before it is really easy to drink.
Cheers!
