This Belgian Dubbel is brewed by Old Dominion Brewery located out east in Dover DE. This is a spring time seasonal, and carries a 7.2% ABV.
I found ole Abbey to pour out a nice amber color, creating a decent amount of head that laced nicely on the glass. The aroma of the beer had a whole lot going on as I found it to contain some spices, clove, banana, Belgian yeast, and some caramel, and toffee. When tasting this beer you get some nice caramel, and toffee sweetness up front, before a nice subtle sweet bitterness in the finish. I found that the banana, and clove showed up at the end as well as some of that Belgian yeast that was found in the aroma.
Overall I found this was yet another fantastic beer from the Old Dominion brewery and I would suggest you give it a shot. They never disappoint, and are always brewing something nice! Thank you again Lauren for sending me out a bottle to try for the site.
