Paulaner Salvatore

Paulaner Salvatore

This Dopplebock is brewed by the Paulaner Brewery located in Munich Germany. It is available year-round and has a hefty 7.9% ABV.

I found this beer to pour out a nice red color with an off white head. The head did not retain very long and didn’t leave lacing on the glass. This had me concerned with a possible age factor. The aroma of the beer is very sweet and contains hints of caramel, dark fruits, and alcohol. When tasting this beer I found it to start off very strong yet sweet with the dark fruit, and caramel malts. It finishes up rather harsh with the alcohol coming through strong and then just the hints of the sweet fruit and caramel.

This is a decent beer but I think the alcohol somewhat overpowers the beer. That would be the only thing I would change.

Cheers!
