Sea Dog Wild Blueberry Wheat Ale

Sea Dog Wild Blueberry Wheat Ale

This Blueberry wheat is brewed at the Pugsley Brewery located in Portland Maine. It is available year-round and it has a light 4.7% ABV.

I found this beer to pour out a hazy golden color typical for your wheat style of beer. It made a decent amount of head however it didn’t retain and didn’t lace on the glass. The aroma is all blueberry hinting at a blueberry pie due to the bready malts. The taste of this beer starts off tasting just like a blueberry before it finishes very dry and malty.

The finish in my opinion killed the beer. If they would have left it just a tad sweeter then this would have been rated much higher. I had high expectations for this beer and felt slightly let down. I do however think that it would compliment a warm day and can see how this could be a popular brew.

Cheers!
