Yuengling Light

Yuengling Light

This light American Lager is brewed out of Pottsville PA, at the world’s oldest brewery, Yuengling. It is available year around and has a very light 3.2% ABV, and only 99 calories which leads me to believe this beer is in direct competition with Bud Select.

This beer pours out a nice golden color, with a decent amount of head and a little lace as well. There isn’t a whole lot going on with the aroma but I found it to be somewhat sweet with maybe some hints of caramel, and some grainy malts. The taste of this beer is also very light, and sweet carrying an overall nice balance but there isn’t a whole lot going on here either.

Overall this is a decent beer but it furthers my theory of if you are that worried about calories when drinking beer, you probably shouldn’t be drinking beer. I will however take a regular Yuengling any day of the week and wish that Yuengling would start to distribute to my home state of Missouri.
