This IPA is brewed by Charleville located in St.Genevieve MO. This beer has a 6.5% ABV and is available year-round.

This beer pours out nicely into the glass making a hazy copper color while producing a thick soap like head that laced the glass. The aroma contained some bready malts, as well as some citrus, pine, and floral hop tones. Getting to the taste now, I found alot of the aroma to show through as it contained that bready malt front. This carried over with a decent balance to the rather bitter pine, and citrus hop finish.

Overall I really enjoyed this IPA and would recommend you try it out. I also got to have this on draft, and cask at the Charleville Brewery courtesy of Tony Saballa the head brewer. If you get a chance go and check out their setup. It really is a beautiful area, and nice brewery. Check out my write up of the visit here.

Cheers!

This American IPA is a limited brew from the Boston Beer Company also known as Samuel Adams which is located in Boston MA, and it has a 5.8% ABV.

I found this beer to pour out a nice light hazy orange color. It created a thick head that retained and laced on the glass while enjoying. The aroma of this AIPA contains a strong apricot presence as well as some other citrus, and piney hops balancing well with the light wheat malt. When tasting this beer I found it to have a strong hop presence containing the apricots, found in the aroma as well as some grapefruit, and oranges. The Whitewater IPA balances well with the wheat malt backbone and it carries a light to medium body to go with a nice mouthfeel.

Overall I thought this was a pretty good AIPA from Samuel Adams and I wouldn’t be shocked if it became a regular in their rotation. Pick it up I think you will like it.

Cheers!

This beer poured a gorgeous ruby red color in the glass however the head did not retain and left minimal lacing. I found the aroma to contain caramel malts, oak, but the vanilla tones take over. The taste of this beer was sweet as it hinted at the caramel and vanilla that was found in the aroma. The oak taste showed up in the finish while creating a nice balance within this beer. I also thought that the Mighty Oak Ale had medium body, and a very smooth mouthfeel.

I would recommend this beer because it does have a full flavor and nice mouthfeel. It seems like the tastes are all right there but I think the Vanilla overtakes the beer.

Cheers!

This Citrus Lager is brewed by the Boston Beer Company also known as Samuel Adams which is located in Boston MA. It has a 5.5% ABV and is their new Spring Seasonal. It states on the bottle that it is brewed with Noble Tettnang hops that are grown in the Foothills of the Alps and Two Row Pale Malts.

This beer pours out a nice light hazy yellow color with decent head that did lace the glass. The aroma contained some light tones of lemon, honey, and some sweet malt, and grains. The taste of this beer was rather light and more malty than I was expecting or wanted. I was expecting a light citrus filled lager to pair with an upcoming spring day after I cut the grass but instead I found this beer to be full of malt while just hinting at the lemons, honey, and other light citrus tones.

Overall this isn’t a terrible beer but there are many other beers that I would pick up after cutting the grass, or bbq’n on a nice spring day. I still think you should give it a shot as you may just like it.

Cheers!

This Limited Edition Champagne beer is brewed out of Boston MA by Samuel Adams in collaboration with the Weihenstephaner Brewery which is located in Germany, and it has a big 10.3% ABV. I found my bottle at Starrs located in St.Louis MO and picked it up to ring in the new year.

I found this beer to pour out a gorgeous light amber color that produced a nice bubbly head that stuck around throughout the tasting and created nice lacing on the glass. The aroma carried some fruit tones such as watermelon, apple, and pears, as well as some alcohol, pepper, and spices. I found this beer to start off with the fruit tones that were found in the aroma as well as a lot of carbonation. The finish of this beer is rather dry yet crisp, and it has some hints the pepper, and spices found in the nose. I also found this beer to hide the ABV very well so be careful because it will sneak up on you.

Overall I liked this Champagne Beer however I don’t know if it is worth it’s price tag of $21.99. There are a lot of other beers out there at a much lower price that I would pick up first. I am happy that I was able to try this and think it is definitely a good beer to have on a special occasion such as New Years Eve. I just don’t think this is something you would want on a consistent basis.

Cheers!

This winter seasonal is brewed by the New Belgium Brewery located in Fort Colline Co, and has a 6.2% ABV.

I found this Black Ale pours out a nice dark brown color that has a nice Ruby color to it when held up to light. It created a thick off white head that laces on the glass. The aroma had some piney hops which surprised me to go with the roasted malts. There is also some chocolate, caramel, and toffee malt that is found as well. When tasting this beer I found the roasted malts to start off nicely before finishing up with a slightly bitter hop finish. I found it to carry a wonderful balance as well as a medium body and smooth mouthfeel.

Overall I found this to be a very nice winter beer from New Belgium, and from what I have found in the past New Belgium knows what they are doing when it comes to brewing beer. I would recommend you pick this one up before it is too late.

Cheers!

I found this beer to pour a typical hazy orange color that created a nice amount of white head that laced on the glass. The aroma of this Witbier is spicy, with hints of orange peel, coriander, and some bready malts. The taste of this beer is very inviting as it has a nice mouthfeel, and a great balance. It starts off with some of that orange peel, and bready malt found in the aroma, and then finishes crisp, clean, and slightly bitter with the coriander, and spices.

This in my opinion would be a very nice beer for either a warm summer day, or even a chilly fall afternoon while watching football. Give it a shot, you won’t be disappointed.

Cheers!

I found this beer to pour out a nice dark orange color with a thick white head that leaves nice lacing on the glass. The aroma is somewhat sweet as it had hints of lemon, and Belgian yeast, and some dark fruit to go with some bready, and caramel malts. I found the taste of this beer to contain some sweet caramel malt as well as some spicy Belgian yeast right away. It finished up with a rather bitter, and tart lemon taste to go with some bready malt as well. I think this beer carried a decent balance and I found the mouthfeel of this beer to kind of bite at you.

Overall this is a above average beer and I would say give it a shot. The price may defer this from happening, $16.99 per 750ml bottle. Luckily I found my bottle on clearance for $6.99 so I question the age of this beer as it wasn’t marked. Give it a shot if you find it and let me know what you think.

Cheers!

This IPA pours out a nice copper color with a thick white head and laces the glass. The aroma is wonderful as it consisted of bouquet of floral, and citrus hops as well as a hint of some sweet malts creating a nice balance. The taste of this beer almost mirrored the aroma. I found the initial taste to be rather hoppy yet balanced well with the malts found in the aroma. The finish is rather bitter which is to be expected with an IPA however it isn’t anything overpowering.

This IPA is about perfect when it comes to an everyday IPA. In fact it has become a staple in my beer fridge. I would recommend you pick it up when you get a chance, and hey It is even better on draft.

Cheers!

I found this beer to pour out a nice amber color with a thick white head that laces on the glass. The aroma has a strong touch of caramel, toffee, and nuts with a nice subtle hint of some piney hops. The taste starts you off with the malts tones found in the aroma before carrying in to the very mild hop finish. It has a decent balance to it as well as a medium body.

This may be the most popular New Belgium beer and it isn’t bad but in my opinion but there are better options to reach for when looking for one of their brews. It is worth a shot however so if you haven’t tried it already pick it up in one of their sampler packs.

Cheers!
